Coming from the antique market in times more recent, it is a barely documented work. The conceptual tone of the work does not give a good idea of the attitudes of the numerous figures present. However, it is not to be excluded the performance of a ritual or a sacrifice in the name of the deity: on the extreme right the figure draped in yellow lever up an arm, recalling the one on the left, as to respond with the same gesture.
The colours used almost seem to recall the shy sunrise after a rainy night: a light that tries to make room on the left in the grey leaden clouds. A colour that leaves you surprised if you think about the bright and warm distinguishing the compositions on ancient subjects and, what convinces most about the type of theme, is not so much the dubious representation, but the use of a material and decomposed brushstroke, typical of the Seventies. Finally we can find similarity to that of the painting Studio for “Ancient choir coming out of the temple”, also no less enigmatic.
