Portrayed woman’s identity isn’t known today, but maybe the painting was made in the eighties. As often happens in his female portarits, Netti resorts to an oblique setting of the head, resting on a pillow. The chromatic intonation is original: it’s based on the background, up to the dress, on the shades of grey, letting the face emerge from the woman’s absorbed glimpse.
