While the expansion in the North American market continues, the Group strengthens its presence in Europe and in Italy. The 1990s saw the birth in Taranto, on the initiative of Pasquale Natuzzi, of the first shop in the Divani & Divani by Natuzzi franchise chain, a success confirmed today by the presence of over 480 single-brand Natuzzi shops all over the world.
This constant commitment, aimed at the growth of the company, its collaborators and the territory, was sanctioned by the Honoris Causa Degree in Educational Sciences, conferred in December 2001 by the University of Bari. In October 2008 Pasquale Natuzzi was included in the American Furniture Hall of Fame.
He is the first non-American to receive this accolade. In November 2010, the Italy-China Foundation, as part of the 2010 China Awards, awarded Natuzzi the Capital Elite award as the best testimony of Made in Italy in China. In 2011 Pasquale Natuzzi received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Anti-Defamation League (ADL, Lega Antidiffamazione) for having distinguished himself in his work, improving and enhancing the relationships between collaborators, customers, and all the people involved in the activities of the enterprise. In 2015 Pasquale Natuzzi won the Special Award for Made in Italy, within the Italian Talent Award, as a representative of Italian excellence in the furniture and design sector, an example of creativity and innovation appreciated all over the world.
